The de-icing system can be installed either on a building under construction, having planned the installation at the design stage, or on a building already in operation, based on the results of analysing the condition of the roof.

The system can be installed on sloping and flat roofs of any design. The materials of the roof and its elements can be: metal, rubber, plastic, wood, made of resins.

The system heats:

  • roof elements;
  • gutters and drainage funnels;
  • gutter funnels;

Features of cable heating of roofs and gutters

Warning, but not melting. The power of the heating cable prevents the formation of ice, but is not designed to melt ice. Timely switching on will prevent ice formation. If the heating is switched on late, when the roof is covered with a layer of ice, the effectiveness of the system is virtually nil. Do not allow gutters and downspouts to fill with ice.

Automatic on/off switch

To reduce energy consumption, de-icing systems use electronic thermostats to automatically control heating.

Switching on or off is automatic when the corresponding signals are received from the remote sensors. To answer the question ‘at what temperature to switch on the roof heating’ - for the average strip of Russia we recommend to set the thermostat values: switching on at 2...5 °С, switching off at 5 °С.

The de-icing system is economical and reliable. Thanks to the presence of a thermal sensor, the cable uses electricity efficiently.

Installation of roof and gutter de-icing system

  1. Installation of heating sections. Mounting tape, technical chain, hooks, tie clamps, rivets, screws, self-tapping screws are used for mounting.
  2. Connection of heating sections to the power supply network with voltage ~220 V, 50 Hz AC. For connection, connection boxes, electric cables, cabling products and other fasteners and accessories are used. Marks of power cables, types of boxes, cable-dressing systems are used in accordance with the operating conditions and requirements of the PUE.
  3. Installation of control and protection equipment. Installation of sensors, control cabinet of the SHU (KNS), with pre-installed in it electronic thermostat, control and protection devices, in accordance with the capacity of the system and the class of execution of the control cabinet.
  4. Checking and adjustment of the system operation.
